In these days of obsession with safe sex and celibacy, it's kinda nice to see that the ladies' man is not dead. He's just imported. In a cute little BBC sitcom, Karl Howman plays a painter—of plaster, not canvas—who can't stop himself from charming every woman he meets, even a meter maid, even the boss's wife, even a nun. No, he doesn't take them all to bed. He just likes women. Winks are safe sex, too.
