What a wonderful surprise. With romance, style and startling imagination, Beauty and the Beast updates an old fairy tale with modern flair. Linda (The Terminator) Hamilton as a beautiful, successful lawyer meets Ron (The Name of the Rose) Perlman as a beastly freak of a man who lives beneath the subways and sewers of New York. She falls in love with him because he saves her life, because he's kind (and besides, all the good men are taken). Don't worry, he's not really ugly; he looks like a cross between Gene Simmons and David Lee Roth. And don't dismiss this as a kids' show. Beauty and the Beast is a fantasy for everyone to love. This is the freshest and loveliest show of the season.
