Like the Fatman, above, The Law and Harry McGraw is another mystery for morons—a TV genre in which we know whodunit from the start, then we wait an hour or two for the stars to figure it out. Jerry (Dirty Dancing) Orbach plays Harry, a gruff Boston private eye introduced on Murder, She Wrote, and Barbara (Hill Street Blues) Babcock is his cohort. The acting, writing and direction are all competent. And that is faint praise indeed.
