Pure patriots may not be happy with Billy Joel for going to the Soviet Union and telling them about dissent in Angry Young Man, unemployment in Allentown and the tragedy of Vietnam in Goodnight, Saigon. It's glasnost rock behind the heavy-metal curtain. But in his August Leningrad concert, Billy really gives those Reds a show to remember. He delivers loads of energy and affection, and the audience returns the favor. And, yes, you get to see wife Christie Brinkley with little Alexa Ray, who's wearing baby ear protectors so she won't be deafened by Daddy's roar. Here is diplomacy you can dance to.
