In a new sitcom from the folks who brought you Family Ties, Linda (Lou Grant) Kelsey and Doug (Knots Landing) Sheehan play yups who give up their careers to stay home and run a day-care center. The kids are cute and precocious—of course—and that's just what makes them wonderful props for comedy. "That song is stupid!" one little girl protests in the middle of singing "Old MacDonald." "Farm is spelled f-a-r-m, not e-i-e-i-o." And speaking of cute, Saturday Night Live's Julia Louis-Dreyfus co-stars as a Ms. Ambition who craves no kids. She has a biological clock, but her "finger is on the snooze button." She can't understand Kelsey's and Sheehan's fascination with miniature people. "Some things I have no desire to hold," Julia says. "Babies, plutonium..." Just as on Family Ties, the mom and dad don't get much to do. It's the kids and co-stars who make the show. And just as on Family Ties, they make it delightful.
