Barry Manilow should have watched Willie Nelson's special and learned how to relax a little. Barry gets way too hyper, trying to outdo himself with ever glitzier sets, ever kitschier costumes, ever more backup singers and dancers. A few times, though, he does relax and sing, as when he joins vocalist Diane Schuur for one humid rendition of Summer-time; the rest of the show should be that good—but it's not.
