Karl Maiden plays Adm. Elmo Zumwalt Jr., who ordered the use of the defoliant Agent Orange in Vietnam, and Keith Carradine plays his son, Elmo III, who is suffering from two forms of cancer, both probably caused by Agent Orange, and whose son was born with learning disabilities. So here is a true story of tragedy and guilt in a war that produced so much of both. The show is nicely acted and produced, and the emotions are sincere, which makes it easier to forgive the script for making the characters too pat and for putting too many platitudes in their mouths.
