Debra Winger and Timothy Hutton may be living apart (she in Malibu and he in the Hollywood Hills), but they were recently spotted together at Spago, West Hollywood's be-scene eatery. A pal of Hutton's couldn't have been more surprised by the split, saying "I talk to Tim a lot, and he never gave a clue that times were tough at home." After the Spago rendezvous, Tim flew to Rome on business, but canceled plans to direct a video there for Tracy Chapman. The hot young singer from Boston was doing a concert in Milan.

Bob Dylan, folk rock's most famous chameleon, reportedly visited A & M studios in L.A. for a guest vocal on U2's new album, due later this year. U2's label, Island Records, says it has no comment on Dylan's being there, and Dylan's reps at CBS Records in New York say they know nothing.

Two big stars in small roles: When Tom Cruise dropped by the Santa Fe set of the brat pack Western Young Guns to visit with his buddies Emilio Estevez, Lou Diamond Phillips, Charlie Sheen and Keifer Sutherland, he was roped into filming a small part. Young Guns, which opens Aug. 10, will mark the film debut of country music's Randy Travis, who plays a villain. His character gets to order the killing of Billy the Kid, played by Estevez.

Larry Hagman, in his role as co-executive producer of Dallas, has developed a taste for spaghetti Westerns. He has lined up Alessandra Mussolini, the 25-year-old granddaughter of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, to play the love interest for his J.R. character. Her publicist, Jimmy Dobson, says, "She's going to be on the show. The contract's just not signed." He says II Duce's descendant was introduced to Hagman at her Aunt Sophia Loren's villa in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley about two years ago. Alessandra, now in Rome, plans to move Aug. 16 into her aunt's house. Sophia's younger sister, Maria, is Alessandra's mother, and her father is Romano, the son of Mussolini. Her parents are no longer together.

Saying nyet to stories that he might be a henpecked husband, Mike Tyson, the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, will accompany his wife, Robin Givens, when ABC's Head of the Class cast travels to Russia later this month to film two episodes for next season. The production will mark the first time an American sitcom has filmed in the Soviet Union.

The senor who came backstage to embrace Senorita Linda Ronstadt after her mariachi concert at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa, Calif., was old love Jerry Brown. Asked later 1) to confirm that he'd been at the concert, 2) what he thought of the show, and 3) whether Ronstadt and he were together again (since, last time anyone checked, she was keeping company with film wizard George Lucas), the ever inscrutable Brown replied, via a secretary at his law office, "Yes." Go figure.
