At least when I mess up installing a curtain rod, I haven't killed a living thing. When I get near greenery, tragedy always follows. I have a black thumb. So I watch gardening shows—especially this one—with awe. These people think nothing of trucking in a coupla tons of dirt or building stone walls or planting acres of veggies. So if you like dirt under your fingernails, you'll find plenty to love (and learn) with this show. The Victory Garden is a This Old House for the compost crowd.
