Since it opened two years ago, more than 200,000 people have visited this small Santa Cruz, Calif., museum in a lighthouse overlooking Steamer Lane, a famous wave-riding spot. Pitched in sand among pieces of driftwood are boards donated by local surfers. Among them are a 100-pound redwood plank used by surfers in the '20s, the belly-boards of the '30s and '40s along with today's sleek 10-pounders.
