Dr. Ian Dunbar doesn't hesitate to rub dog owners' noses in it when they're bad. A British vet and animal behaviorist, Dunbar leads seven puppy owners through classes that begin with house-training. Shout at Rover Jr. as soon as he starts to go, says Dunbar; that shock should "contract just about every sphincter in the dog's body." Then take Rover outside ASAP. Dunbar tells family members to fondle the pup's ears, paws and mouth, so it will learn to sit still when it's handled as an adult. Although this 90-minute tape is draggy and repetitive, it should help owners teach their best friends to come, sit, lie down and heel—everything but sing and dance.
