Picks and Pans Review: Jesse

CBS (Tues., Oct. 4, 9 p.m. ET)

CBS has been cleaning off its shelves lately, putting on lots of leftover movies, like the one above or like last month's Open Admissions, Secret Witness, Run till You Fall and Intrigue (movies I was too merciful to review). Once again, we have the writers' strike to blame: Networks have to put something on the air, so they put on bad movies. But I wish they had left this one on the shelf, to preserve the good name of the wonderful Lee Remick. She stars as a nurse who's accused of practicing medicine without a license in her small Death Valley town. It is filled with platitudes, not plot. It is embarrassing.
