Picks and Pans Review: Thanksgiving Movie Scorecard: One Hit and a Parade of Gobblers

Give thanks indeed to Bill Murray's Scrooged, the holiday film that just might end the current box office slump. A summer of sizzlers, headed by Who Framed Roger Rabbit, has been followed by a fizzle of a fall as overrated star vehicles (Punchline, Clara's Heart, Everybody's All-American) fail to pick up an audience. Movie attendance is down more than 20% from last autumn. Thanksgiving is traditionally a big movie weekend, but beware: There are hungry turkeys out there eager to stuff themselves with your money.
