Chet Atkins

While Mark Knopfler sits in on a memorable two-guitar version of John Lennon's Imagine, this is not a duet album. It is mostly Atkins, playing in that ringing tone and precise style. He also recycles John Sebastian's 1966 Lovin' Spoonful hit Daydream to happy effect, but most of the 10 tunes are new, including an Atkins-Shel Silverstein track, Mockingbird Variation; the jaunty Atkins-Johnny Gimble tune Put Your Clothes On; and a rare, croaky if effective Atkins vocal on I Still Can't Say Goodbye, a Robert Blinn—James Moore song Atkins dedicated to his father, Arlie, who died in 1968.
