Elizabeth Taylor is back in front of the cameras. The 63-year-old Taylor, who underwent a hip replacement last year and has been relatively low profile ever since, just finished shooting the first commercial for her newest fragrance, Black Pearls. Under the direction of photographer Herb Ritts, Taylor shot the black-and-white spot two weeks ago on the Sony back lot in Culver City, Calif. Look for the ad next year when Black Pearls goes on sale....

If model Janice Dickinson looks slightly different these days, says a source close to her, it's because the 40-year-old former girlfriend of Sylvester Stallone recently underwent cosmetic surgery on her eyes and forehead. Dickinson's agent, Ken Chiaramonte, would neither confirm nor deny the report....

Don't count on a sequel to 1990's wildly successful romance Pretty Woman. Richard Gere and Julia Roberts both took a pass recently after seeing a script for Pretty Woman 2. A source close to both says, "Neither appears terribly interested in ever doing a sequel." By the way, there appears to be no truth to rumors that Gere and Roberts, both now separated from their respective spouses, Cindy Crawford and Lyle Lovett, are dating each other....

Mandy Patinkin, who plays heart surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Geiger on CBS's Chicago Hope, may be leaving his black bag on the set. One source says Patinkin does not want to come back for a second season and is "trying to get out" of his five-year contract. A second source says that while Patinkin "loves the show and the people there," the rigors of a weekly series, including commuting between L.A. and his family in New York City, turned out to be more than he bargained for....

The enigmatic and reclusive Phil Spector, producer of such hit '60s groups as the Ronnettes and the Righteous Brothers, may be coming out of professional hibernation. Spector, who hasn't produced an album since releasing a collection of greatest hits in 1991, has been in talks with the French-Canadian singer Celine Dion about working on her next record. The two met after she sang one of Spector's songs, "River Deep—Mountain High," on Letterman, and band leader Paul Shaffer phoned Spector and recommended that he meet Dion....

The 300 bottles of 1991 cabernet sauvignon donated for the recent Artists Rights Foundation dinner in L.A., honoring Steven Spielberg, bore Steven Seagal's name and likeness on the label and came from the action star's winery in California's Santa Ynez Valley....

Who says agents don't have hearts? When the four members of the phenomenally successful rap group Boyz II Men came off the road recently, there were new $47,000 Toyota Land-cruisers waiting in each of their driveways, gifts from their grateful agents at International Creative Management....

And finally, from our Decline and Fall File: A memorabilia collector in Princeton, N.J., is offering a filleting knife autographed by John Wayne Bobbitt for $200. Sound cheap? Hey, it's not the knife.
