The attraction of playing poker has very little to do with the thrill of drawing to an inside straight. The real lure is smoking cigars and learning new dirty jokes. Hence the appeal of this special, which airs during three consecutive evenings. Comedy Central has brought together five very funny comedians—John Caponera, Kevin Pollak, Robert Wuhl, Allan Havey and John Mendoza—to play a high-stakes poker game and to tell the best raunchy gags they know.
Up until the last half hour—when the jokes get scarce—The Real Deal is a riot. You may not learn much about card playing, but you'll certainly pick up plenty of material.
