As a history lesson, this 4-hour, two-part special is intriguing. Each hour is devoted to real-life adventurers who traveled the globe in search of ancient artifacts. The first show, which focuses on the 1961 disappearance of Michael Rockefeller while he was exploring for art in New Guinea, is the most provocative. After that segment, the series creeps "along at a very slow pace, performing better as education than entertainment.
