NYPD Blue's Dennis Franz (left) and Jimmy Smits (with director of photography Brian Reynolds) took to the streets of Manhattan to film a scene for their ABC series. But the first episode of the new season isn't slated until Oct. 24. Are you okay widdat?

Superspokeswoman Paulina Porizkova gave a big thumbs-up to the Giorgio Beverly Hills Boutique in L.A. Paulina, the face of Estée Lauder before Elizabeth Hurley usurped the spot, now sees mostly Red, the Giorgio fragrance she promotes.

A puckish Matthew Perry (left, center) made a few fast Friends when he teamed up with Jason Priestley (far left) and Mike Myers at L.A. Gear's Street Hockey Jam benefiting the Hockey Equipment Lending Program for kids. The winning trio took to the tarmac for a hockey game held on the back lot of Universal Studios. Meanwhile, on the other side of the big pond, Dustin Hoffman (right) revved up for a hockey game of his own in London's Hyde Park, where he played with his (camera-shy) Rain Man costar Tom Cruise. Hoffman, who recently wrapped American Buffalo, is vacationing in London, where Cruise was filming Mission: Impossible.

Christine Baranski, who plays Cybill's Chanel-suited, rich-by-divorce-settlement pal Maryann, isn't hung up on haute couture: She donated the ball gown she wore in the movie Jeffrey, in which she played a socialite partygiver, to Planet Hollywood's memorabilia collection in New York City.

Long live the Queen Mum, who celebrated her 95th birthday with a royal driveabout outside Clarence House, her London residence. While the Queen Mum's corgis Ranger and Dash nipped at her cart wheels, she raised a glass of champagne for the traditional sip with the veddy British Guild of Professional Toastmasters.

Suha Arafat, wife of PLO leader Yasser Arafat, introduced Zahwa, the couple's first child, born July 24, as mother and daughter left the American Hospital outside Paris. Zahwa (which means pride in Arabic) was then flown home to Gaza, where a new venture, the Amusement Park of Palestine's Zahwa, has already been named for her.
