Paula Devicq (Party of Five) plays a Wall Street shark who reluctantly takes time out from disemboweling competitors to visit her ailing, estranged father on the Texas ranch where she grew up. Before booking the flight, she huffs, "I think this whole notion of pretending you care about someone just because they got sick is ludicrous." During her stay, Devicq gradually rediscovers her true nature with the help of a studly but sensitive cowboy type (Jon Hensley of As the World Turns). The movie starts smartly but gets a little softheaded and predictable under the harsh Lone Star sun—although Devicq and Hensley look great together.
