Brian Dennehy cowrote, directed and stars in this meaty mystery about a once-great attorney, now a reformed drunk. He is hired by an ex-lover (Bonnie Bedelia) when her stepdaughter (Fairuza Balk) is accused of murder. The plot gets dense, but this has the makings of a fine series.
