Delta Burke goes berserk. That's the concept, and how could you not be happy? Instincts is basically a variation on The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, only without Rebecca De Mornay. Burke, a would-be mother whose biological clock is ticking, goes into the hospital for a fertility procedure. While she's under anesthesia, her gynecologist discovers ovarian cancer and her husband rashly insists on a hysterectomy. Burke, upon coming to, is displeased. It would spoil the movie to explain how she gets her revenge, but let's just say that Instincts is worth seeing for the Shopping Cart Incident alone. Is Burke convincing? No, certainly not. But she's enjoyably, dementedly snappy, after her fashion. This is good camp.
