ON TUESDAY (JULY 12), NBC FINALLY kicks off its '94 Major League Baseball coverage with the 65th annual All-Star Game, from Pittsburgh (8 p.m. ET). The same network has been running promos for its new September shows for almost a month. How screwed up are things on the networks when the fall season is being hyped long before the first baseball telecast of the summer? It lends credence to my theory that television has been out of whack ever since they canceled Newhart.
