Winfrey Reruns

It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step into Oprah's shoes...and skirts and pants and gowns. The 2,000 women who attended the talk show host's cast-off clothing sale, held in Chicago last June, couldn't wait to walk out with one of Oprah's treasures. In just four hours the sale raised $150,000 for two family-focused charities. And Oprah's customers—including the four on these pages—went home happier. "I don't care if I ever wear it," sighs Ellen Habay (see page 176), a size 16 whose size-18 dress doesn't quite fit. "I'll just look at it. It belonged to someone famous!"
