LAST WEEK CAME AND WENT WITHOUT the O.J. Simpson movie on Fox we had been primed for all summer. The official story: Fox pulled the film at the request of O.J.'s defense team. A noble sacrifice, right? Well, let's consider an alternate scenario. Say it occurred to somebody at the network that showing the movie before the trial began would be an unforgivable waste of free publicity. What if instead they were to wait until the all-important November sweeps period and then trumpet the event as "the movie so explosive that O.J.'s lawyers didn't want you to see it!" Now how many of you would tune in?
