They can plot themselves into the tightest corners, and then, with a simple line of dialogue, they are flying freely again. The latest example comes from Days of Our Lives. The scene: a cottage on a desolate, rain-raked island. "It's like old times, being here with you," says John (Drake Hogestyn). "No, John," responds Kristen (Eileen Davidson). "It's not like old times. I'm married. I'm married] And you're a priest!" "Ah," he says, arching an eyebrow, "but I'm not a priest." Now about that "marriage license" of yours...
