Heather Locklear

Thanks to Heather Locklear—who plays Amanda Woodward, the savvy landlady of an apartment complex full of sleek, sap-headed twentysomethings—Fox's Melrose Place was the guilty viewing pleasure of 1994. At 33, "Heather brings a maturity the show was lacking," says Melrose creator Darren Star. Locklear is a Hollywood blonde with a twist: In her pert, size-3 costumes, she looks like a well-groomed Valley girl, but the cold, imperious snap of her character's voice could have cowed Queen Victoria. Heather herself puts on no airs. "This year I've worked the hardest," she says, "and probably been the happiest." She even found a fiancé, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, 35. (Her first husband was Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.) "He's beautiful, the best," she says. Perfect match.
