Picks and Pans Review: The Women of Spring Break
Here's the midlife zanies version of Where the Boys Are. Three old college pals from Ohio (Shelley Long, DeLane Matthews and Mel Harris) decide to revisit the Florida beach town where they enjoyed splendor in the sand back in the hippy-dippy '70s.
Though most people deferentially call them "ma'am," they still stumble into romance, even our married lady.
"When you've been a wife and mother as many years as I have," splutters Long, "sometimes you forget that you're a woman." Not in this film you don't, lady. Not when every subplot doubles as a flirtation device.
This picture is so exceptionally feeble, it's demeaning to its participants (and that's before they strip down to their skivvies to spontaneously leap into a belly-flop contest). Spring break in Moose Jaw would be more entertaining than this.
