Adam Sandler
Sandler, Saturday Night Live's Opera Man and Canteen Boy, here plays a cretinous brat whose hotel-magnate father threatens to cut him out of the family business unless he returns to school and completes first through 12th grades in six months. This isn't an inspired, let alone logical, premise, but it does let Sandler perform his shtick, which includes talking in a funny little voice and singing silly ditties. It's all too wee and cute, as if he had honed his stand-up skills performing for leprechauns and elves. (PG-13)
