The two began meeting regularly to discuss and revise The Wedding. "Many things surprised her," says West of her famous editor. "Mrs. Onassis was a person who liked to learn. She didn't really give me advice, but I would tell her things about black people and she would say, 'Put that in,' and, you know, sometimes I would."
