The 50 Most Beautiful People in the World

Refreshing winds of change are blowing across the face of beauty '95, and the difference is in lighter attitudes as well as lovely attributes. ER's Dr. Feelgood, George Clooney (bottom right), for instance, buries his dimples in a 5 o'clock shadow. Picket Fences star Lauren Holly (left) admires Lucille Ball and fell for Dumb and Dumber's Jim Carrey. And not all of this new breed come from the back lots of Hollywood either.

To browse among the fabulous faces on the following pages, you'll need to have your passport stamped. A quarter of our 50 beauties this year are foreign-born, and these outlanders possess a positive elan about the blessings of nature. Take English actor Patrick Stewart, who has no hair, while French actress Julie Delpy shampoos hers only once a week. French-Italian actress Chiara Mastroianni (daughter of Marcello Mastroianni and Catherine Deneuve) says she can't be bothered to work out because "I'm Mediterranean, and my parents were very lazy." Growing up in the heat of Australia, supermodel Elle Macpherson (top right) can't understand why people would want to wear a lot of clothes. Then there's Swiss-born actor Vincent (Indochine) Perez, who refuses to submit to the scalpels of the celebrity surgeons. When a director asked him to alter his nose, which he broke playing soccer as a child, Perez said mais non. "I thought it was very funny, and strange, too," he recalls. "My beautiful, broken nose!"
