When model Darcy LaPier, 29, filed for divorce from kick-actor Jean-Claude Van Damme, 34, in November, she asked for half his fortune and a Harley-Davidson bike. Now, having called a halt to the divorce, she's settling for having his baby. The couple are expecting the birth of their first little martial artist in October and maintain that their 15-month-old marriage is, at the moment, doing fine. Van Damme, married thrice previously, has two young children. LaPier, wed once before, has a young daughter.

Game show host Art Fleming, 70, who gave the answers so that contestants could ask the questions on TV's Jeopardy! (from the show's start in 1964 to '75, and then again from '78 to '79), died of pancreatic cancer on April 25 at his home in Crystal River, Fla. Fleming, a history buff, also had roles in 48 movies, including Mac-Arthur (1977). He leaves a wife, Rebecca, and two adult children....

Political and social activist Maggie Kuhn, 89, who led the fight against age discrimination by helping to found the Gray Panthers in 1970, died at her home in Philadelphia on April 22 of cardiopulmonary arrest....

British music hall performer Tessie O'Shea, 82, who won a Tony award as a fish-and-chips peddler in Noel Coward's The Girl Who Came to Supper (1963), died on April 21 in Leesburg, Fla., of congestive heart failure. She played Mrs. Hobday in the movie Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971).

Princess Diana's brother Charles, Earl Spencer, 30, announced his separation from his wife of six years, Victoria, 30, on April 20. Since early March, Victoria, a former model, has been undergoing treatment for alcoholism and anorexia in a Surrey clinic. The couple have four children, ages 1 to 4....

Picket Fences' venerable Judge Bone, Ray Walston, 80, was sued for divorce in Los Angeles superior court on April 21 by his wife of 51 years, Ruth, 79, on grounds of irreconcilable differences. They have an adult daughter.

Actor Daniel Day-Lewis, 38, and his sometime lover, actress Isabelle Adjani, 39, had a son, born in early April in New York City. Reps for both stars refused to provide the child's name or birth date. Adjani has a teenage son by director Bruno Nuytten....

Rocker Bob Seger, 50, and wife Nita, 31, had a baby girl, Samantha Char (8 lbs.), on April 16 in Naples, Fla. Their son Christopher is 2.

Over champagne and caviar, actor-director Kristoffer Tabori, 42, proposed to Guiding Light's Barbara Crampton, 36, on March 31 in Laguna Beach, Calif., and she accepted. "He treats me like a princess," says Crampton. To be closer to her L.A.-based prince, Crampton will leave her role as Mindy on the New York City-based GL in May and move west. No wedding date has been set.

Ex-Saturday Night Live star Julia Sweeney, 35, who played the androgynous Pat, underwent a hysterectomy on April 5 after being diagnosed two weeks earlier with cervical cancer. Her publicist said doctors are "very, very optimistic."
