A West Virginia teenager (Heather Tom of The Young and the Restless) vanishes just as she is getting ready to move away from home. The frantic concern of her poor parents (Tony Danza and Pamela Reed) takes on a darker meaning as the police investigation veers close to home.

It's a hoot to hear Danza—TV's reigning dem and dose-er—mauling an Appalachian accent. Reed fares little better as a bone-weary, slow-witted woman who starts going in and out of shock like a narcoleptic on a bad day.

The movie—"suggested by actual events"—is so bizarre, so implausible and so raggedly acted that it is an instant candidate for the spoofery of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
