The court simmered with sets appeal when (from left) Chris Ever partnered Andrew Shue in an exhibition tennis match in L.A. against Andre Agassi and Dustin Hoffman, which Agassi and Hoffman won. The pro-celeb tournament, organized by Lilly (Mrs. Brandon) Tartikoff, netted $100,000 for the Revlon/UCLA Women's Cancer Research Program.

Actress Vanessa Williams (not to be confused with the singer of the same name) went with her manager-husband, Andre Wiseman, to the first annual Soul Train Comedy Awards in L.A. No longer a resident of Melrose Place as of next season, she is currently filming D.R.O.P Squad, an urban drama due next year.

A copped-out Nicolas Cage demonstrated call waiting during a shooting break on Cop Gives Waitress $2 Million Tip, a new movie he's filming in New York City. A romantic comedy, Cop costars Bridget Fonda and Rosie Perez and is scheduled for release next year.

Sinbad, whose new Sinbad Show starts Sept. 16 on Fox, celebrated the dog days of summer by taking his daughter, Paige, 7, son Royce, 4, and Sheeba, the family's German shepherd, to the opening in L.A. of the California K-9 Academy. There, a fully trained Shutzhund German shepherd (just like the police use!) costs $15,000 or more.

Oh, no, he's boxing again—and in nonregulation headgear. Part-time pugilist Mickey Rourke, who has a 6-0 record for his professional fights, appeared in a televised exhibition match (three rounds, no winner or loser) in Buenos Aires against amateur fighter Henry de Bidder. The actor next plays an ex-Confederate officer in The Last Outlaw, due in October on HBO.
