Victoria Principal and Peter Onorati star in CBS's Sunday movie River of Rage: The Taking of Maggie Keene (Oct. 3, 9 p.m. ET), about a river-rafting trip that makes Deliverance look like one of those luxury cruises Kathie Lee Gifford is always touting. It's a rather standard woman-in-jeopardy outing, but it does feature Dirk Blocker as a small-town Texas sheriff. Blocker looks uncannily like a compact version of his father, the late Dan Blocker, one of television's most beloved performers. Dirk is also featured as a journalist in NBC's upcoming movie Bonanza: The Return. That project, incidentally, provided Jay Leno with the funniest gag of the recent Emmy broadcast, as he pondered how such a second-generation concept was possible, since there were never any women in evidence on the Ponderosa.
