Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, 64, is recovering after falling from her horse while hunting on Nov. 20 in Upperville, Va. The former First Lady was knocked unconscious and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. She was released after a one-night stay....

Actress Ashley Judd, 25, of TV's Sisters and the movie Ruby in Paradise, was also lossed from the saddle, on Nov. 23 in Franklin, Tenn. Judd's mishap landed her in the hospital with a fractured right ankle. She was released on Nov. 25.

British novelist, composer and essayist Anthony Burgess, 76, author of more than 50 works of fiction and criticism and dozens of musical compositions, died of lung cancer in London on Nov. 22. His most popular book was A Clockwork Orange, a 1962 novel about violent youth on which was based a critically acclaimed 1971 movie directed by Stanley Kubrick. At 42, Burgess was wrongly thought to have a brain tumor; believing he had only one year to live, he wrote four books in the next 12 months....

Actress Claudia McNeil, 77, best known as the matriarch in the 1959 Broadway play and 1961 film version of A Raisin in the Sun, died of complications from diabetes on Nov. 25 at an Englewood, N.J., nursing home....

Texas blues guitarist Albert Collins, 61, who won a 1986 Grammy Award for his album Showdown! died of lung cancer on Nov. 24 at his Las Vegas home.

Former President George Bush, 69, was awarded an honorary knighthood by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace on Nov. 30. Though Bush will not be allowed to call himself "Sir"—that honorific is reserved for British subjects—he will be permitted to wear the Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath insignia and use the initials G.C.B. after his name.

Real-estate mogul Donald Trump. 47, and his girlfriend, Marla Maples, 29, filed a $35 million counter lawsuit against Maples's former publicist, Chuck Jones, 50, in New York State supreme court on Nov. 30. The couple accused Jones of extortion, harassment, theft and fraud in connection with Jones's alleged obsession with Maples. Jones, who has denied the charges, had already brought a $700 million suit against Trump and the Plaza hotel. He claims he was held against his will by Trump's security personnel shortly before being arrested for allegedly stealing Maples's shoes and lingerie in July 1992. Jones still faces trial on burglary charges early next year....

Robert Thompson and Jon Venables, the 11-year-old British boys accused of dragging James Bulger, 2, from a shopping mall near Liverpool and beating him to death on Feb. 17, were found guilty by a court in Preston, England, on Nov. 24. A judge sentenced the pair to indefinite custody at youth treatment centers for "an act of unparalleled evil and barbarity."

Democratic strategist I James Carville, 49, and CNBC talk show host Mary Matalin, 40, once a political aide to former President Bush, put politics aside—again—to say "I do" on Nov. 25 in New Orleans. This is Carville's first marriage and Matalin's second....

TV's Married...with Children mom Katey Sagal, 37, became the real-life wife of Jack White, 39, a musician, on Nov. 27 in Nashville. It's the second marriage for both.
