The apex of Mr. T's unusual stardom was probably March 31, when the former bodyguard joined Hulk Hogan in a wildly hyped Wrestlemania spectacular. With his fierce scowl and bristling Mohawk, "There'd never been anyone like Mr. T," says producer Stephen J. Cannell, who had cast him two years earlier as soldier of fortune B.A. ("Pity the po'fool") Baracuson NBC's action-packed A-Team. "He had a heat that brought us viewers."
