Four women in Nashville share a bond: They're all divorced from big-time country-music crooners. This movie is the story of their lives, their loves, their struggle for independence. (Judging by this film, the practice of alimony never made it across the Cumberland Gap into Tennessee.)
There's the aerobics instructor (Nia Peeples), the DJ with the lascivious voice (Andrea Parker), the hustling agent-promoter (Susan Walters) and the owner of a security firm for performers (Debrah Farentino). David Keith, Brad Johnson, Paul Gross and Jesse Vint costar.
This torch-and-twang melodrama, the pilot to a series that never got made, is as corny and compressed as a bad country song. And the story is outrageously contrived. Only the Music City setting and the cast make this better than average.
