While his CD Sax by the Fire played during the delivery, Entertainment Tonight cohost and musician John Tesh, 41, and his wife, actress Connie Sellecca, 38, welcomed their first child, Prima Sellecchia (6 lbs. 7 ozs.) on June 2 in Los Angeles. Sellecca, whose name was originally Sellecchia, has a son, Gib, 12, from her previous marriage to actor Gil Gerard.

Matthew Sorum, 33, drummer for the rock band Guns N' Roses, and his wife, Kai, 25, an actress, filed for divorce on June 1 in Los Angeles. In May, Sorum was charged with spousal battery for allegedly beating his bride of one year at their Malibu home. Released on his own recognizance, Sorum is scheduled to appear at a June 24 pretrial hearing.

On June 1, a Seattle federal judge ordered Col. Margarethe Cammermeyer, 52, a nurse and Bronze Star recipient discharged by the Washington State National Guard in July 1992 because she is a lesbian, reinstated to the military. The judge said that he considered the basis for her discharge, the government's old outright ban against gay personnel, unconstitutional. The court also ordered the National Guard to pay Cammermeyer's legal fees and to expunge any record of her sexual orientation.

Bret Michaels, 31, lead singer of the hard rock band Poison, is recovering at his Los Angeles home after losing control of his Ferrari on May 24 and crashing into a telephone pole in Burbank. Michaels, whose injuries included a broken nose and thumb, had been driving at an estimated 80 mph, said police.

Character actor Barry Sullivan, 81, died of a respiratory ailment on June 6 at his home in Sherman Oaks, Calif. His long career included roles in the original version of The Great Gatsby (1949), Jeopardy (1953) and Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here (1969), as well as in Steven Spielberg's TV movie Night Gallery (1969)....

Author Dennis Potter, 59, best known for his British TV dramas The Singing Detective (1986) and Pennies from Heaven (1978), died of pancreatic cancer on June 7 at his home in Ross-on-Wye, England....

Merwyn Bogue, 86, better known as Ish Kabibble, a member of the Kay Kyser band between 1931 and 1951 and a regular on 1949's Kay Kyser's Kollege of Musical Knowledge, died of pulmonary disease on June 5 at his home in Joshua Tree, Calif. During his years with the band, Bogue, who wore his hair combed forward, was introduced as "the guy with the low-cut bangs and the high-kicking cornet.

Melrose Place bad boy Thomas Calabro, 35, and his wife, Elizabeth. 32, an actress, will become first-time parents in December....

Sen. Ted Kennedy will soon be a grandpa for the first time: Ted Kennedy Jr., 32, a University of Connecticut law student, and his wife, Katherine "Kiki" Gershman, 34, an assistant professor of psychiatry at Yale Medical School, are expecting their first child in August....

And Ted Jr.'s older sister, Kara Kennedy Allen, 34, a TV producer, and her husband, Michael, 35, a Washington architect, are also awaiting the arrival of their first baby, in September.
