Picks and Pans Review: Viewer's Choice
>PUBLIC TELEVISION'S GREAT HEALER SOME PSYCHOLOGISTS BELIEVE SUCH concepts as "co-dependency" and "dysfunctional families" have turned us into a nation of self-pitying blamers who shirk responsibility for our own problems. But that backlash doesn't stop PBS from trotting out one of its big rainmakers for the December pledge period: John Bradshaw, the author (Homecoming: Reclaiming and Championing Your Inner Child) and counselor who is the adult-child movement's guru, arguing that patterns from our early years give too many of us distorted concepts of what love is. Creating Love, at 10 hours the longest of Bradshaw's TV lecture series, is based on his most recent book and advocates healthy relationships with ourselves, God, spouses, work, etc. Many PBS outlets will package the series as a block. As with other pledge events, it's impossible to know when local stations will air it. Get in touch with your local listings.
