LILLY TARTIKOFF MAY BE LIVING IN NEW ORLEANS these days, but she hasn't lost her touch for Hollywood hostessing. Tartikoff—whose husband, Brandon, recently left his post as Paramount Pictures chief to move to Louisiana, where the couple's 10-year-old daughter, Calla, is undergoing therapy following an auto accident last January—jetted back to L.A. to oversee her tin I'd annual Fire and lee Ball on Dec. 2. Emceed by Candice Bergen, the Beverly Hilton Hotel gala raised $1.1 million for the Revlon-UCLA Women's Cancer Research Program and drew a crowd that included Sharon Stone, Jay Leno, Pierce Brosnan and nearly 1,000 others. "Not only do we see stars, but my son's dentist is here," noted L.A. Law's Alan Rachins, surveying the mix of actors, studio execs and medical types.

After poached salmon, baby vegetables and mashed potatoes, the tuxed-and-gowned diners settled back for postprandial performances by comedian Dennis Miller and country songbird Trisha Yearwood. Clearly pleased by the turnout, Tartikoff vowed that she would continue her support for the cancer center even if she and hubby Brandon don't return to Hollywood in the near future. But how do you plan an L.A. do from Louisiana? "I'm a fax queen," explains Lilly. "I actually have five."
