Television used to be so simple. The networks would roll out the new series in the fall, maybe throw in a weak variety hour, like The Jim Stafford Show, in the summer, and that was it. Now everything is so fitful and turbulent. It seems like a new miniseason is being launched every other month. Here it is the first week of March, and there are three new network series premiering (see reviews); there's another one next week. Let's face it, the TV climate hasn't been the same since they canceled Captain Kangaroo.
