AH, The MAGNETISM OF BIG-TIME stars. (Well, they do seem to stick together, don't they?) Case in point: the annual National Association of Theater Owners/ShoWest convention, that four-day schmooze-fest at which Hollywood studios line up outlets for upcoming films. On hand for the Las Vegas confab: Tom Cruise, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Julia Roberts, Sylvester Stallone and a host of other stars who came by to shill their celluloid and charm the folks who'll be spinning their reels in movie houses. Mel Gibson, voted male star of the year by the theater owners (thanks to such box office draws as Lethal Weapon 3 and Forever Young), captured the spirit of the occasion. "I scratch your back, you scratch mine," he told the group. "We've done pretty well together."
