Talk show host Phil Donahue rehearsed his "Me and My Shadow" dance number with Lartif Thornton, 15, a New York City ninth grader, before a one-time-only performance to benefit the National Dance Institute. "I took tap when I was 7," says Donahue. "Now, 50 years later, I can say to people who claim you can't relive your childhood, 'You're wrong.' "
