Getting their yucks in a row: Musical funnyman Paul Shaffer and stand-up comic Rita Rudner paused backstage at New York City's Paramount Theater. The two were taking part in a Toyota Comedy Festival show that aired live on HBO.

Lily Tomlin (left) joined Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson. at the Hollywood opening of a new satirical play, Oliver! Twisted. Hanks and Wilson both appear in Sleepless in Seattle, a movie opening June 25.
