Getting their yucks in a row: Musical funnyman Paul Shaffer and stand-up comic Rita Rudner paused backstage at New York City's Paramount Theater. The two were taking part in a Toyota Comedy Festival show that aired live on HBO.

Lily Tomlin (left) joined Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson. at the Hollywood opening of a new satirical play, Oliver! Twisted. Hanks and Wilson both appear in Sleepless in Seattle, a movie opening June 25.

Clint Black left some skin on third base but gained the sympathy, not to mention the medical attention, of wife Lisa Hartman during a Softball game in Nashville to benefit the City of Hope National Medical Center.

Janet Jackson, who makes her movie debut this July as a poetry-writing beautician in Poetic Justice, showed her support when her director, John Singleton (Boyz N the Hood), picked up an Upton Sinclair Award for his commitment to social change at a ceremony in Beverly Hills.

Tandem tykes: Two-year-old fraternal twins Dylan (in stripes) and Blake Tuomy-Wilhoit. stars of ABC's Full House, made like old pros when they attended their first party for network affiliates in L.A.
