Luciano Pavarotti celebrated the 30th birthday of New York City public station WNET-TV with the Boys Choir of Harlem. The choir also performed during Pavarotti's free concert in Central Park.

Mary Matalin, George Bush's former aide-decamp, grilled her boyfriend, former Clinton campaign Svengali James Carville, at a Washington roast that featured him as the main course. The couple are writing a book about Campaign '92.

At Wimbledon. Barbra Streisand, 51, cheered and did the wave for new pal Andre Agassi, 23, and talked tennis with Agassi's brother, Philip (left). But she couldn't save Mr. "Image Is Everything" from defeat at the hands of Pete Sampras.

Ringo Starr and Wynonna joined in a TV concert at UCLA sponsored by the Gorbachev Foundation to benefit children's immunization programs worldwide. In many locations, the globally syndicated concert airs this week.

Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson: Anne Bancroft, who seduced naive college grad Dustin Hoffman in 1967's The Graduate, snuggled up to Buck Henry (who wrote the script) at an L.A. screening of the flick for the American Film Institute.
