In an ingratiating if silly comedy, Dinah (Empty Nest) Manoff plays a spoiled woman whose husband's death creates a spiral of downward mobility that ends in a job as a live-in maid for a contentious pop singer (Nell Carter) on the comeback trail. The discovery of Carter's ex-husband hanging stiffly in the hall closet sends the two women off on a slapstick adventure. Manoff and Carter give spirited accounts of themselves in this brittle but breezy showcase. Joyce Van Patten, Garrett Morris and Antonio Fargas ably costar.
