Another prejudice here. I've watched Susan Lucci, star of this TV movie, on ABC's All My Children for more than 15 years. I figure I'd enjoy watching her read her mail. But 1 can happily report this very soapy movie is more interesting than that. It is not Citizen Kane, though; love Lucci, love the movie.

She plays a long-suffering cheese and sausage maker who toils, Cinderella-like, in the family business. No fun. No life. No romance. (We're talking major departure from her AMC role.) But then David Soul enters the picture. Before you can say "And you thought Janet Leigh died fast in Psycho," however, Soul is killed—and on their wedding day. Drat! Actually, his death allows the film to get going, even if the ending is hardly a surprise.
