Melissa {Little House on the Prairie) Gilbert-Brinkman is a first-year resident at a hospital who stumbles onto some ghoulish experimentation on one of the wards.
She barks out such ER argot as "I need an X-ray, CBC, Chem 7, type and cross, 10 units, stat. Stat!" with authority but looks entirely too rested for the role. In fact, among the staff (Jack Scalia, Wendy Hughes and Gale Mayron), I the only one in this hospital with a I decent bedside manner is Pernell Roberts. Must be his internship on Trapper John, M.D.
From the clumsily lurid mock-Gothic opening to the wrestle-to-the-death conclusion, this turgid thriller never grabs either your credence or your fancy.
