>A PARODY YOU CAN'T REFUSE: THE FRESHMAN

Marlon Brando sends up his eminently lampoon-able Don Corleone Godfather character in this eccentric comedy written and directed by Andrew Bergman. Matthew Broderick's innocent face ideally suits him to play the young student enlisted into Brando's endangered-species smuggling operation. Penelope Ann Miller neatly plays Brando's sly-sweet daughter; Bruno Kirby is the sort of dopey klutz that mobster movies are so fond of, and Bert Parks adds a Bob Dylan song to his repertoire.
