In this four-hour miniseries, cover girl Carol Alt stars as a woman who falls in love with the mob hitman (Eric Roberts) who, unbeknownst to her, murdered her father years earlier. Wait a minute, doesn't Susan Lucci have dibs on parts like this?

Actually, La Lucci is fortunate she didn't get herself into this lumpy mess. Eli Wallach plays the Mafia don who is Alt's protector; Burt (Rocky) Young is his lieutenant. And since in every one of these preposterous pulp projects there's always one hambone who decides to put claw marks in the scenery, Nick Mancuso gets to overact wildly as a hotheaded mobster.

Everything about this mini, an Italian-American coproduction, is cheesier than a double-mozzarella pizza.
